Hello, Darcy Wisconsin Greetings! Enjoyed your PB workshop in March. Wanted to pass something on that I heard an author mention at a presentation the end of July. She was asked how she wrote–by hand, or computer. She said that she wrote by hand. She found that the computer interrupted the flow with grammar/spell checks. Everytime she stopped to correct, she lost that bit of concentration. Recently I’ve had situations where I wrote by hand & discovered she might be correct. Then, I edit as I type that section into the computer. Thought it was interesting and wanted to pass it on.

Becki–Great to hear from you!
Writing by hand v. computer is an interesting topic. When I get stuck–I go back to pen and paper.
But I’m usually fast enough on computer to keep flow going.

Becki, what a great tip. Just yesterday I gave myself five minutes to write a short, bring the reader up to speed paragraph, and I realized I needed to close my eyes while typing to get that flow and not be stopped by the little things. I think I read about a writer who did that - blindfolded himself while typing to get the story out of his head more fluidly.
